SELLING GUIDE
Selling your unwanted clothes or furniture is a great way to make extra cash. We have built a niche community of members who all have an interest in fashion and current trends. Whatsmineisyours simple ‘buy now’ function helps you get the best price for your items, using a straightforward one-off £1.00 item placement fee. Our guide will help you make the most of your listings and ensure you have buyers queuing up for more.
- Place your item in the correct category. You’ll be surprised how many items just sit on the shelf when they are not categorised properly.
- Describe your item in full. Make sure you provide a full description detailing all faults, fabrics, sizes and features. Remember, the more detailed a description you give, the more likely it is to sell.
- Be realistic with your pricing. Remember this is not an auction site, but you can still offer your items up for no set price, and let customers come to you and offer what they think they are worth. You can then sell your item to the person you feel has offered you the fairest price.
- Take an amazing photo. We don’t charge you to add multiple photo’s so take advantage and take a number of shots to show off your items best assets. Your main picture should show the full item, it should be clear and bright, if you notice the colour is slightly different in the picture make sure you tell your customers in the item description. The additional pictures should zoom in on details like fastenings, prints and fabric changes.
- Please make your postage terms clear. Are you prepared to insure the item? Are you prepared to send the item abroad and if so how much it will cost?
- Think about how you would like to be paid. If you do not have a PayPal account then we strongly advise you to set one up. For more information please go to www.paypal.co.uk. Buyers prefer to use PayPal as it insures the items they are buying and helps protect their bank details.
- Presentation is everything! Package your items correctly and the customers will give you glowing reports. If you are selling used or vintage goods remember to wash and fold them neatly. And don't forget to protect breakables with padded envelopes and bubble wrap.
- Once you have sold the item remove it from your list and exchange feedback with the buyer to build up your profile for future sales.
