BOUTIQUE GUIDE


‘BOUTIQUES’ gives new designers, vintage sellers and small businesses the opportunity to launch their own on-line shop without the cost of programmers, developers and designers. For a monthly fee you will be able to launch your business, upload your logo, choose how you want your boutique to look, add you items for sale, talk with customers and invite new ones to join you in your shop. Here’s our guide to making it work for you.
  • First things first you need to open your Boutique.  To open your Boutique you will need to create a whatsmineisyours account (if you haven't already).
  • Log into your free whatsmineisyours.com account.
  • Go to account home page <my account>
  • You will see a button that says 'open a boutique'.  Click on this button.
  • You will now need to follow the form as it asks you to key in your Boutique name, load your logo, tag line, description, company profile, terms & conditions, tel no, location.  IMPORTANT: YOUR BOUTIQUE NAME CANNOT BE CHANGED, SO CHOSE WISELY AS IT WILL BE PERMANENT ONCE YOU HAVE KEYED IT IN.  All other details can be changed as and when you like.
  • You can then choose how you want your boutique to look.  We have provided you with a number of 'skins' for you to customise your boutique, these can be changed at any time and we will uploading new skins all the time, so keep your eye out for new additions.
Don't worry, you can change the look of your boutique at any time, though we do recommend you pick a look and stick to it as your customers will get used to how your shop looks and you don't want to put them off!
  • Click the 'submit' button.  This will now take you though to our secure payment page where you will set up your subscription of £40.00 per month inclusive of VAT.  As you are setting the subscription up through Pay Pal you can cancel your account at any time, though if you do this you will not be able to add any more items.
  • You have now created the look and content of your boutique.
  • Back in your account home page you will see your boutique inbox and a special banner we have created for you.  This banner is a direct link straight into your boutique so post it wherever you like, on your myspace profile or forums and blogs.  The more banners you post the more people you will entice into your shop!
  • You can now add as many items as you like for no extra cost.  Your items will show up in the boutique section, they will also be searchable in the left hand category navigation, so make sure you add them to the correct category for search purposes.
Another helpful tip...   ...Search through the items within the swap section, if you see someone who has an eye for vintage click through onto their item, then click on their username, this will bring you to their profile page.  You will see a button saying 'send friend request'.  Click this button and add them to your friends list.  The more friends you build up the better.  Once you have a nice group of friends you can group message them through your friends list on your account home page.  So, each time you add a new item, send out a message and direct all your new friends to come shop with you.
